Piers & Docks

New piers, docks, platforms and repairs, built to last on Virginia’s creeks, rivers and bay.

A pier is the reason most people buy on the water. Dock It Marine builds new piers and docks and rebuilds tired ones, working from our own barge so the pilings go in straight and the heavy equipment stays off your lawn.

Every property is different: water depth, bottom, exposure to the wind and what you want to tie up at the end. Richard looks at the site, talks through how you’ll actually use the pier and builds to suit, whether that’s a short walk to a creek platform or a long run out past the shallows.

Customers tell us the same thing: they take their time and get it right. One review calls the finished dock “the pride of our creek.”

“Richard and his crew have built me the very best Dock of my dreams, and it is the pride of our creek.”

FAQ

Piers & Docks: common questions.

Don’t see your question? Call (757) 570-3266, Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 4:30.

Do you repair docks or only build new ones?

Both. Many older docks can be rebuilt with new decking, framing or pilings. Call or send photos, and we’ll tell you honestly what makes sense for yours.

Can you add a boat lift?

Yes. Boat lifts are part of what we install. Planning a lift in from the start means the pilings and framing are placed for it.

Do I need a permit for a new pier?

Most work over tidal water in Virginia needs approval from one or more agencies. Amanda handles the permit paperwork for our projects and keeps you updated along the way.
